Flash2Flash Biography (The Band, 2003 - 2008)
Flash2Flash was born in Piscataway, NJ in late 2003. With no intention to be the counterpart to the bands of the New Jersey rock scene, Flash2Flash puts out an incomparable flair. Their nuance and style invoke curiosity and intrigue amongst their listeners. The band name alone, Flash2Flash, is an unique idiom which describes the behavior of the human mind and how it vacillates from one memory to another. The musical style of this teeming trio is greatly influenced by the funk of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the etherealness of Radiohead, and the hardcore drive of Project 86, which plays into its novelty.
Highly anticipated since their self-titled acoustic EP in February 2007, Flash2Flash has released the long awaited LP, Origination Unknown. Flash2Flash incorporates a slew of melodic ideas in its musical composition, creating a vast range of sounds, from mainstream pop to alternative rock. This colorful spectrum of sound is created along side a daring and adventurous lyrical style. The diction and syntax of the words are floridly poetic; each song tells a story about the human condition and the consequences that emerge. Feelings of angst, confusion, elation and indignation are only to name a few of the sentiments that flow through the duration of the album.
Without a doubt, Flash2Flash is starting a pop culture of its own and is quite worth the indulgence of its listeners. Let your ears be the paparazzi.

10 Year Anniversary Expressions For Studio Album, Origination Unknown (2018)
Above is an experimental audio experience created by Justin Bulava for the 10th anniversary of the album Origination Unknown by Flash2Flash. The piece is based on an audio sample of a moment before a rehearsal recording of the Flash2Flash song "Rape Kit." This work is in solidarity with the organization endthebacklog.org.
This cover image is for Remember Me, a collection of audio from 2007 - 2008 pulled from Flash2Flash archives. This compilation was released privately within the band by member Justin Bulava for the purpose of showing gratitude for the band experience.
The above concept map offers an overview of what Flash2Flash was as concept/band from the perspective of one of its founding members, Jeffrey Cobbold. It can also be considered a short reflection on the meaning of the band’s name, which Jeffrey proposed during the very early stages of the band’s existence.
Remembering Flash2Flash (2021 and beyond)
With the band having ended so many years ago and with its 10 year anniversary expressions having been completed, the way is clear to move forward with “Remembering Flash2Flash”, which is an ongoing space for creative expression related to Flash2Flash. Inspired by the the 10 year anniversary expressions, The Origin of Origination Unknown: Lyrical & Poetic Concerns From A Christian Youth is a collection of Flash2Flash audio selected by Jeffrey Cobbold and mastered by Dylan Viola, highlighting the beginnings of Jeffrey Cobbold’s work as a lyricist and poet. It is one of the essential works for remembering Flash2Flash, a true New Jersey original. This movement can be followed on social media under the hashtag #rememberingflash2flash.
